Loc Rose

We decided to go explore the local pink lake.  It is known for its high salt levels which allow for a very interesting red color to the water.  We were there right at the end of the raining season (late October) so didn't get much (any) of the pink color.  Maybe another time!

We really enjoyed the dunes.  It is about a 1/2 mile walk in the sand to get to the beach.  There are many trees so it is a pastoral walk.  Then, the dunes just open into this wide, empty beach.  Wonderful.

Two peddlers ended up finding us on the beach. A very nice woman sold us a few trinkets.  A very pushy many who greatly overpriced his moncala set (and didn't know how to play it) made us feel very uncomfortable, even when our Senegalese friend with us who could speak quite well with the peddler!

Still, all in all, a nice trip.  About 45 minutes to get there in the morning about about 1.5 hrs to get back through afternoon traffic!
